So, it's still not clear to me if Ian is taking everyone in the Ensigerum, it looks like there are a few people left on the ground. Am I seeing that right?

One assumes that not everyone in the village is combat ready. And they likely have a number of servants, somewhere or other. And there are dependents to take care of, mostly children.
