Re: 2010-05-14: Yank!
If you think about Nookie's complete lack of leverage, swinging the staff like that is another indication of how strong she is. In case punching through golems wasn't enough. She's handicapping herself, really (or maybe actually somewhat concerned about magical attacks), she'd be better off just attacking directly.
Speaking of which, I think the relatively small amount of blood supports my reading of a strong non-lethal preference. They'll beat the shit out of living beings but would really prefer not to kill. Which sort of makes sense for immortals, for whom death isn't a given. *cough* stupid elves *cough*
By extension, she may not know what humans are but she can apparently tell what sort of thing a golem is, to rip it apart.

This is not about strength. No matter how strong she is, only way she could do stuff like that would be if she weighed at least 30kg. Or don't care about physic at all.

That would be assuming she is dependant of our sense of reality.hkmaly wrote:This is not about strength. No matter how strong she is, only way she could do stuff like that would be if she weighed at least 30kg. Or don't care about physic at all.
If, by magic, she could "anchor" herself in a position, even in fine air(or on the wall), then she can perfectly do that.

Catgirl GENOCIDE! detected.
The faeries really aren't used to the concept of 'no', are they?

Which is what Superman's been doing for 70 years . . . he has a different relation with reality than the rest of us.Neko7 wrote:That would be assuming she is dependant of our sense of reality.hkmaly wrote:This is not about strength. History celebrates the battlefields whereon we meet our death, but scorns to speak of the plowed fields whereby we thrive; it knows the names of kings’ bastards but cannot tell us the origin of wheat. This is the way of human folly. --- Henry Fabre

Presumably she can stabalize her position the same way she flies.hkmaly wrote:This is not about strength. No matter how strong she is, only way she could do stuff like that would be if she weighed at least 30kg. Or don't care about physic at all.

She did use the wall to bounce of. If she gained enough speed, and can displace enough air with her wings (ignoring for a moment the whole "she has unimaginable amounts of magic to do whatever she pleases"), she could swing in midair easily.

Found the problem in your thinking. Mass is not weight. Weight is force.hkmaly wrote: weighed ... 30kg.
She can be putting 30kg*9.8 m/sec N of force against the wall- or much much more, being a demi-god and all- and be anchored like she weighs as much a 30kg kid would. Heck, we've seen them fly straight down hard enough to punch through people, the fairy could probably be sitting on a scale, flapping wings with no special effort, and "weigh" several tons.

If she can grab and hold onto the "do not touch" end of the Yuuki staff while it is being activated, then all she has to do is use her wings to propel herself in the direction she wants. The staff will follow, like a rigid trailer. If she does loop de loops or whatever, the staff will swing around like a big magical nunchuck. Her weight or leverage has nothing to do with it.
And I'm not such a big fan of catgirls anyway.
