"Oh, by the way..." ZAP!
I always love reactions like that.
Also, if the prof just stepped back a second, he'd realize that, with Meji as a research assistant, he's guaranteed tenure.

I think so far I like the new Meji's personality. It's clearly still her, but there is something to her (mentally) that is not entirely her own (and she is clearly aware of it and its difference from herself).

Question is... The difference in reaction is it based on Meji having a much more academic upbringing than Ian, or an aspect of Senilis? While Ian was more understanding his powers by trial and error using his feel, and explaining his dispelling of a god by 'untying a knot'. Meji seems to go straight to the underlying principles the powers are based on.
And that new/evolved attitude she shows does give me a hard-on.

Initially far more competent and somewhat more emotionally unstable, however she seems to be very dazed with the initial merger... which afterall is perfectly understandable given the vast, enormous amounts of information she has absorbed with only about a day's incubation prior.
At any rate the vast majority if not the entirety of the core components of Senilis' personality (excepting memories) are certainly dead. Meji has assimilated Senilis. The control Ian has gained over Anilis is weaker and has matured gradually rather than Meji's instant and complete access after the incubation period. After all she was shown to be alive in Ian's mindscape as she had time to plan some sort of hibernation after being the death of the Senilis Collective.
I wonder if the Faeries will serve her?

I'm pretty sure the main differences are based in the fact and way which Senilis died. We have had no evidence of any of the core components of his sentience, other than his memories, surviving and a rather visceral scene of lamentation over dying. Anilis otoh, going by the vision Ian had while unconcious or dreaming, is not dead and most likely kept her knowledge for herself while being angry with him (though its anyone's guess how much, if any, effect she has on him other than such visions... though personally I think she is likely at least mildly accountable for his instability though it seems endemic to his personality).Rakshasa Taisab wrote:Question is...
