I wonder who gets to explain to grandpa that she was half naked when they found her and totally passed out on her own, too.

And with this panel Meji has already shown that she is vastly smarter than Ian.
Instead of frying them all right now she can probably get them to restrain her (ineffectively) before most of the guards run off leaving her with only one or two of them. Of course if she kills the guards then my theory loses a little ground, but these are her people, I imagine she'll put them to sleep or paralyze them magically or something.

If that was faked, I think Meji has taken a turn for the interesting. She's growing on me.
Precursor of wall-o-text post avalanches.

Ian has pulled the fainting thing a lot (particularly when no one around was trying to kill him), he's just never overtly indicated that he was faking.
This is definitely a move up from offering to suck Yukiri off, though.

I think that Meji simply has much less pent-up frustration than Ian ever did.
Ian's motivations are long-standing grudges to do with his Mother, Sister and two entire races (or demi-races, however you want to define Elves and Half-Elves).
Meji's are simpler and more child-like. Get good grades, find some approval from a family member. Most of her violent tendencies are exercised at her (indestructable) cat, while Ian is obviously a brooding pressure-kettle.

I'm not really sure it's a move up from offering to disassemble the guy beyond the "quintessence" level and reassemble him with a low 80's percentage of accuracy (or admitting that she was having trouble controlling her levitation effect). That actually sounded very self-aware and refreshingly honest compared to the usual Meji antics. But maybe it was just the font making me think that...capitalization can work wonders for the written word.
