Specialy if the suspicion on the side/may-be-soon-to-be-secondary-or-main-in-the-sequel character we have seen in the illustration are true

Lead is the name for the metal, plomb. A goldmine is a mine of gold, or. Gold and lead are almost considered opposites. I understand that you probably meant leads, meaning clues or ideas to be developed, but it is kind of funny to see 'goldmine of lead'.
