So does that mean that Bani rant was justified after all?Poe wrote:The earliest conceptions of them were, obviously, heavily influenced by the Dwemer from the Elder Scrolls series, and they also picked up a bit of an ancient Egyptian styling along the way

So an M61 cannon-like thing that still functions tens of thousands of years after it was created doesn't qualify as "advanced technology"? That's kinda scary when you think about it...Poe wrote:All of sudden, I actually had story reasons for why the place would look like a wrecked, looted mess, devoid of any real sign of advanced technology.
Because old is wise, does good, and above all, kicks ass.

Obviously the dwarves would get into giant statues and mecha after the taller, magical, and reproductive if somewhat less intelligent elves were created and gave them an inferiority complex. Then the pious Cimmeri responded by building a giant statue of their gods until budget cuts dropped the Senilis statue.

I think that Poe would count getting an inferiority complex over the elves as something that would "make them look like giant, vain shitheads that like to make statues of themselves for no reasons besides ego".
That (non-magic powered) mech guarding the gate to Senilis after Anilis got 'napped (and evidently programmed to target humans, though elves are too dumb to notice)? Not functioning after tens of thousands of years. Also, not terribly more advanced than a cardboard sign saying "humans keep out" in every known human language.

Kill...more...elves.

It's almost as if that cannon was protected by deadly force...Graybeard wrote:So an M61 cannon-like thing that still functions tens of thousands of years after it was created doesn't qualify as "advanced technology"? That's kinda scary when you think about it...

Secular = seperate from religion. I think you meant to say from the heavily theistic Egyptian design.Trying to reconcile a scientifically advanced race of agnostics with the heavily secular Egyptian design sense was a giant mess
