It would seem that Meji isn't in the talking mood.

Ian... Ian is just not getting this. He's in a fight with an angry ("Kill MY cat, will you?!?"), determined neo-goddess who's a lot stronger, and better at combat than he is. Who understands the concepts of distraction, overwhelming attack, and kill shots. If he's not going to wind up beaten to a pulp - which might happen anyway - he needs to forget the blasted Elves and start showing the kind of smarts he exhibited against the Elf captain back in Saus. Or he needs to run away. I'm not sure he's rational or smart enough for either right now...

Hehehehe! Was Meji trained in combat field tactics? She's damn good at it. Forget the trash talk, focus on the task at hand.
Edit: Seems Ian IS the Elf captain now, and Meji is acting like Ian did.

Even though she attacked immediately after Ellis got vanished and likely didn't get a chance to plan much, still every action seems to have multiple purposes and been thought through several steps into the future.l33tm44m wrote:Hehehehe! Definitely got talent, and most likely training at the university, unlike Ian.

Color me weird, but I'm finding the action to be dragging rather badly right now. Okay, Meji has come riding in over the horizon like cavalry in a spaghetti Western, bringing (and brought by) ingenious magicks. Got that. Okay, she's PO'ed about Ellis. Got that. Okay, we now have the spectacle of a fight between an insane, ghod-possessed half elf and a possibly insane, ghod-possessed half elf. Got that. Okay, Praenubilus Astu is screwed. Got that. Okay, big-time magical violence is happening. Got that. Okay, it's the climax of the whole friggin' story. Got that too.
But how about the important stuff? The real tension here has to do with the troops on the ground, not the ones hovering in midair. The ones who are potential "collateral damage," to use a grisly euphemism. The ones who are either going to die gloriously, or become the nucleus for putting the world back together after the era-ending crapstorm finally runs its course.
Let's get on with it.
