Truthfully, I always rather liked Chris. Sure, he's a complete tool, but give him this: his intentions are good, and he never swerves from them and from being himself, even when things turn completely ugly at the Ensigerum village. That's admirable, in a weird, childish sort of way. Maybe, if one of the sequels happens to be set five years or so in the future, we could find a way to ship him and Misa; they're surprisingly similar, after all.
Nice touch on the Veracian clergy's outfits, Poe. I hadn't noticed that when this ran for the first time.
