Where is Jon going to pack his guns?
I like Sara's original uniform better.

I'm liking Sarine's armor. Good to see that she had a more practical form of armor when with the elven ranks...but of course one wonders just what did she do while wearing it that still weighs upon her thrice-millennial heart.
I also have to agree, Slam. I like Sara's previous costume to this one. However we're still waiting to see what Misa chose for Jon...and here's to hoping it'll either try to make him look just as badass or perhaps a bit foppish. Such a funny dichotomy if that were to happen.

Jon might even have to shave and do a full pony tale with a ribbon.
Per Sara's outfit, I am reminded of an MST 3000 line: "She's less naked than before she undressed!"

Yes, and her husband is definitely wearing an old Ensigerum uniform, like the one that Sara now has. This pulls a lot of pieces together for me. Thanks.Sareth wrote:Loosing the human love of her all too long life.BandMan2K wrote:...but of course one wonders just what did she do while wearing it that still weighs upon her thrice-millennial heart.

This isn't a gratuitous costume change, this is Poe revealing some hitherto unknown details that we've speculated on before. Now we have absolute proof that Sarine's past love was a pre-time-magic Ensigerum and that Sarine probably helped to train them. This backs up her claim to have taught Warrel's progenitors, as well. This is also why Poe originally forgot about Jon. Sara's costume was the main focus, and still is, in todays page.BandMan2K wrote:I also have to agree, Slam. hmm. Sarine's treading on a lot of old wounds with her ploy to manipulate the Elven Council; Sara in the old Ensigerum uniform, herself in the Virador uniform... I predict that Sarine's gonna need a moment after it's said and done to cry her old hurt back into submission again. And Jon might help with that. Again.

I remembered her love, but I was thinking perhaps there would be something else that may crop up now that she was back in the city. Yet another sticky wicket, if you will. However, it seems that I inadvertently instigated a query that helped bring us back around full circle. I had honestly forgotten about this portion of the strip's chronology. At least my idiocy's done some good for others.Sareth wrote: Loosing the human love of her all too long life.

I take it then this is all gonna be immedately updated into the HKV post haste. As for the costume, I didn't think of this as some gratuitious costume change. Considering they've been pretty much in the same clothes for the mass majority of the comic, I was thinking perhaps it would be interesting to see the old Ensigerium outfits, figuring they would be much more lavish and perhaps looking a bit out of place on Sara since they were originally an all-male company. Now that this has been brought up per Sareth's previous links and the links have been brought to our attention, I can look at this in a different light and see what it is you've alluded to in your post...but I still like the more updated Ensigerium get-up compared to their old duds.Slamlander wrote: This isn't a gratuitous costume change, this is Poe revealing some hitherto unknown details that we've speculated on before. That would be interesting to see...and will no doubt be heart-rending for us readers to see.Talancir wrote:hmm. Mmmm....armour.....
Must...resist....commentary....on..practicality... "SMACK".
Ahh, much better.
As for Sara's costume not being "teh seaxy", well, it makes sense. The design was originally meant for men, and merely altering it to fit a woman would not change the fact that it is in all likely hood a very masculine garment.

So if Sarine's late, endlessly lamented main squeeze was proto-Ensigerum, what's the other guy? I'd always assumed that it was the other one who was a member of whatever order the Ensigerum evolved out of. The uniform situation makes it obvious that that is not so.
Because old is wise, does good, and above all, kicks ass.

John is gonna get all the elf bitches if he walks in like that, which based on Sarine's comments about how they plan on leaving ASAP, he probably will.
