No offence intended (and I hope none is taken) but you, D.I., have traumatized me for life. I don't think I'll be ever quite the same again.
"I am the necromancer, and I come in the night... Reviving old thread posts, and... eating some bread." <- As you can see, I occasionally run into a lapse in inspiration for rhyme...
So that's where the "kilt craze" came from...

You're quite welcome, and I'm not offended at all.
On the contrary, I make it my business to try and traumatize at least one person a week.

As far as unusual fashion items go, have you seen the tee-shirts that are popular for the urban "street" look. They're long enough to be considered tunics. If the guy wearing it has anything shorter than judo shorts on you can't tell if he's wearing pants.

Unless, of course, he pulls his shorts down so far that the waistband is about even with his crotch.
Speaking of which, who decided that looked good?

There is a better option for everyday wear, and it's quite a bit cheaper especially since you can wear these with normal clothes. http://www.utilikilts.com/
Opps, did not see that it was already posted. But unlike the other poster, I can personally recommend them. I currently have 2 and wear them frequently. They are remarkably comfortable.
