Goriel and beyond

As we play, occasionally we'll close a thread and open a new one to keep the size of threads (and relative complexity) down to a dull roar. Here's where we store the closed posts from the history of Errant Road.

OOC: I'm good to go.
If you like, Sareth, we can just say that Desiree, Lillith, and Brad ate breakfast and then headed over to the airship. Perhaps Desiree learned that they are now married? She'd be fairly happy about that, albeit a bit sad that she missed the wedding.

Unless you have something more you want to do with that...? /OOC

[OOC]I'm good with that. No need to hold everyone up for an amiable chat. But to resolve things with Jamie...[/OOC]

Jamie managed to find her way out of the pile of crates that had collapsed under. She wasn't quite sure what had happened. She had played her little prank on the ship, enjoyed the fun that had resulted, and then felt the entire pile of crates begin to collapse beneath her. She'd caught some odd figure out of the corner of her eye, who had been carrying a crate, she thought, and she could swear she'd seen another crate turn into a strange looking cat. Regardless of which of those (if not both) had started the shift, the crates had suddenly started acting as though some sort of explosive bird had been flung into them. None of the boxes had actually landed on her, to her considerable relief. Instead the general collapse had dumped firmly into a void in the structure, bruising her barely existent padding yet again. ("AGAIN? Who the hell has it in for my tits, anyway? Ow! Gawdammit!")

By the time she'd emerged from the pile it looked like most of the people from off the ship were down. A few more seemed to be fleeing. There were more people, not from the ship, she was guessing, standing about. And over behind another stack of crates she could see...

"TAMI!"

With a shout of glee, Jamie bounced over the downed crates to engage in the ancient kobold greeting known as a "glomp". She tackled Tamina hard enough to knock the kobold woman on her butt and immediately began smothering her with hugs. "There you are! I was told you were around here somewhere!" She grinned, then cocked her head curiously to one side. "Hey, whatever happened to that guy, what's his name? Uso?"

"Hey, whatever happened to that guy, what's his name? Uso?"

Tamina didn't reply for a moment. Her girlfriend turning up so surprisingly (maybe not THAT surprisingly considering the danger they'd just been involved in) put the kobold in an emotional tornado. First she laughed, then cried, then kissed Jaime in a manner that nearly made Udo's eyes pop clean out of his head.

"Thought... you'd... gone." She managed, taking deep breath to get herself under control. "Thought your mum had taken you away. Udo's been..." Tamina glanced over Jamie's shoulder to indicate where her noble knight was approaching from, then saw something less reassuring.

Eli and Tim emerged from the alley at that moment with blood on their clothes and a gentle smile on the half-elf's face that made Tamina's skin want to crawl right off her arms.

"Good day!" He called to the group and people still arriving. "Well this turned into a hell of a mess, didn't it? And all because someone shot their load too early." He grinned at the crudity of the image, but their was anger dancing underneath. "Who did it?" He asked, in tones as mild as milk.

Tamina tried to crawl deeper in Jaime's embrace.

Tim was disappointed that his last question had been simply ignored. He hoped he could renew the conversation later, but it wasn't one he could have in front of others, and he feared there would be no opportunity for privacy on that airship. He stuck close by Eli for the moment, worried that his eagerness for revenge was about to bring him to the exploding point again. Before, he'd attributed Eli's actions to his passionate nature, which had once brought them to blows in the forest between Umbertiel and Getsemiel. Now he thought the Infernal Powers he trafficked with were getting hold of him.

Meantime, Udo, like a good soldier in shock who had just been shot, continued to practice his "bleeding" skills. But there was no one to admire his performance.

[OOC: ...in tones as mild as milk. I take it the milk in question is the murder-pus of a hate-mongering cantankerous teat-demon?]

The man from before came around the corner again, emptyhanded. When he caught sight of Udo, he stopped. He knelt down and with two small clicks, removed the metal bands from his arms and set them aside. Then he picked up another crate, lifted it over his head, and ran.
[OOC: Should be back within an update or two. He's moving faster now]

OOC: Sorry, can't find much for Rose or Brad to do until things settle down. Neither is in any position to intervene at the pier. Wake me when it's over. :|

OOC Alright, lets kick things forward./OOC

They were on borrowed time, even through his anger Eli was able to comprehend that unpleasant fact. With militia doubtlessly making their way to the scene of the battle it would present complications to linger too long. He waved a dismissive hand at the reunited couple and strode on board the ship with Tim still in tow.

A few minutes later the gangplank was swarmed with people once more, although these were clearly not members of the violent slaver crew; their frightened eyes, careworn faces and emaciated bodies told the onlookers everything they needed to know about the conditions the slaves had been kept in. Eli forced a glassy smile to the lips as he re-emerged from the captain's cabin, hurriedly stuffing a wad of papers under his shirt he 'liberated' from the, now very much dead, owner of the vessel.

"Thank you!" A woman sobbed, suddenly clutching at the half-elf's arm. Eli bit back a grimace of distaste. "The things they were going to do to us..."

"Yes, you're safe now. Go, be free."

"Luminosita bless you. Surely he must've sent you."

"Maybe he should have stopped you from being captured in the first place." He responded flatly, taking a small pleasure at the affronted look that passed over her face. The half-elf strode down the gangplank, giving a wave to the group that remained there.

"I think it's time we made ourselves scarce." He said. "Where was it we were heading to?"

Tim pointed the direction they were supposed to go for the airship. "Thataway" he said.

Speaking to the near-slaves, he ascertained that they were indeed Veracian and had enough sailors among them to get the ship home. He advised them on the way to the temple, to get whatever food or other help they needed from the local clergy, so that they could indeed make it home. Then he hastened away with Eli - where they saw Rose and Argus approaching.

The man who had run before came rushing back with cloth bandages and a few leaves of some plant. When he got to Udo, the man shoved the leaves into Udo's mouth and started to work on binding Udo's wound.

[OOC: the leaves have a very mild numbing effect]

It was possible, but not easy, at least to stanch the flow of blood. The bullet hadn't pierced a lung or other vital organ, but Udo's breastbone was fractured and he had lost a fair amount of blood. Being for the moment unaware of his surroundings, he wasn't in a position to register or express gratitude to the stranger who was trying to save his life and numb his pain.
