Kind of like ka-blam for a gun, to emphasize how powerful his fist is in relation to the fists of non muscle wizards. Possibly even indicating that the force of his fist broke the fist sound barrier. I'm more curious about what's up with his hair. Is it a dreadlock crew cut? An alien symbiote? An experiment with styling gel gone horribly wrong? Maybe it's a direct result of self styling attempts with the depth perception limitations inherent to wearing an eye patch.

Well, there are worse things hidden in that arm than an overclocked taser if I remember correctly. So she either ain't fully serious yet or wants to interrogate her attacker afterwards.

That, or she feared to get some of the fallout of a more powerful attack, being very close and such.
