In Jordans defense:
She doesn't really abuses Ann. Abusing a machine would be things like grinding its gears or frying its circuits doing stuff the machine is not made for. Just using it as the tool it is can't be called abuse.

It may be just my opinion. But I assure you, if you ever worked with a milling machine that had a detachable horizontal axis you're supposed to attach and detach kinda frequently, you would be glad if it could do it by its own.

Also the only thing why Ann is sad or doesn't want to be deactivated is because Jordan deliberately botched the programming.
Bear in mind that Jordan destroyed Ann v1.0 before she activated it because it looked to perfect. So she may also have programmed flaws into the new system to prevent its perfection.

That in it self might sound kinda weird. But thats just the way of Jordan and I love her for her quirky behavior. :)

This is on the same level as telling a human to dig his own grave before killing him, or perhaps just telling him to get inside the coffin on his own before you strangle him.

Ann: Couldn't you just let me go now that i've done what you wanted, please?
Jordan: Screw you, do you think your parts were cheap? Actually they kind of were, but... i'm not made of money you know!
Ann: Aww...

Telling Ann to box herself up (and to fetch the crate herself, even) may be harsh, but I was expecting Jordan to disassemble her altogether so she could recycle the components. Instead, Ann may get another crack at faux-life. Joyless, futile faux-life.

...Now disassembly doesn't sound as harsh. :(

Jordan is such a dick.

This is not news. In fact, it's why we love her.

But man. Jordan is SUCH a dick.

Yeah, she is completely a callous sociopath, but I think that's why everyone likes her.

while it comes off as extremely cruel, she actually build her and thus is aware of how she works, and she confirms that she is not actually sapient AND that this whole thing is an act she explicitly stated to have specifically programmed her bot to make in order to make loathe herself
So it is extremely fucked up, but not in the cruelty way but rather then in what kind of person does that to themselves.

A real turn off was the first of your comics I've read. Where can I read more stories with Jordan in?

Well, you could try reading Poe's first comic. Start at the beginning, Jordan shows up... August 23, 2000.

Or you could read most of the rest of the Does Not Play Well With Others comic. I believe her first appearance is anonymous, about 30 strips in.

I guess Babylon Jones officially doesn't exist now?

(Not that that would help with wanting to see more of Jordan, but I liked how that old comic helped put EN and now DNWPPO into the context of a broader preexisting world).
