We have FOUR cats. FOUR! Yet the combined efforts of every member of the household were not enough to capture this one mouse. We think he is now cornered inside the sofa.

Poe and I were trying to capture him so that we could put him in the rodent relocation program, but sadly he's probably going to die inside the sofa back because he's too scared to venture out now.

There are FIVE. I don't understand how you can be so mistaken.
Sorry, couldn't resist.

I only recall having one mouse killed by a cat, but I don't recall having another mouse at the same time as a cat. My mother might remember better, though. She hates mice.

Yeah... I had indoor/outdoor cats as a kid. There's nothing quite like the experience of stepping into mouse guts barefoot to make you a fan of inside-only cats and a strict no eating the mousies policy.

Ours was an indoor cat (declawed before we got her), and the mouse was killed pretty cleanly-- one bite through the neck and left outside my parents' bedroom as a present. Seeing as how that's the only kind of mouse my mom likes, the cat got some treats that morning.
