Rescripts?

I was just wondering... Some webcomics are famous (or even infamous) for their rescripts. Cut out the dialogue and replace it... Would that be considered grievously insulting here? If so, does that mean it would be warmly received?

I'm guessing that, if the answer were yes, this would be the place for it...

Bump (if it's still possible to bump an idea that's over two years old now). The return of the strips at the very beginning of the story seems like a marvelous time to revisit this idea.
