Three Things - Round 3 - Yule Be Sorry!

Post by Viking-Sensei »

Alright, I know I haven't technically finished grading Round 2, however since Round 3 starts on December 1st... which it is in an hour and a half... I thought I'd officially start up Round 3.

Holiday Rules:
The store has been restocked again, this time with all the tinsel and holly that the average mortal can withstand. In addition to the normal compliment of laxitives, blow guns, duct tape, plastic wrap, pinking shears, super glue, and confectioner's sugar, they now have a full stock of all the standard (and a few non-standard) seasonal items. Christmas trees, strings of lights, ornaments, garland, egg nog, fruit cake... it's all here.

Holiday Modifier:
For this December bout, and in the spirit of christmas, we're changing things up a little bit. This time, for each 3-item set you list, you have the option of classifying your list as "Naughty" or "Nice".

We've gotten really good at the "Naughty" these last couple rounds, so I don't think I have to explain those to you... "Nice" doesn't really have to be all that nice, per se, it just has to do more good than harm, and prefereably benifit someone somewhere. If you choose the "Naughty" or "Nice" challenge, you may give a one-sentence explaination for why it is such... you don't have to, but it might help, especially if it's even funnier than the list.

For example, classifying "Exacto knife, cooler, bag of ice" as Nice and explaining that... "Organ donation is the gift that keeps on giving". N or N sets will be graded on a curve - basically, they're either Epic Win or Epic Fail, so make sure you put a lot of thought into them.

Contest Length and Results:
After the 25th, we'll go into "After Christmas Sale" mode, wherein I'll apply some even further modifiers... like Returns. More info will come as we get closer to the 25th.

The contest will end, as always, on the last day of the month, and will be graded sometime in 2008. Promise.
How could a plan this awesome possibly fail?

Box of green-colored condoms, water-based lube, and the biggest Angel tree-topper you can find.

Anatomically correct mannequin, large quantity of wrapping paper, and concealable digital camera (cell phone would do in a pinch).

Um... hi.

And on this fine Christmas eve, from a Walmart located in rural Ohio, I will purchase a tree blind, deer bait, and rifle with scope.

Can Naughty and Nice be complemented by ... Weird? If so:

Largest available dog chew toy; largest available dog collar; children's book about dinosaurs.
