Countdown until this de-evolves into some sort of "enemy of my enemy" debate, which goes horribly wrong...
How could a plan this awesome possibly fail?

I kinda hope not, gag a day is all well and good but its even better when humorous comic also has some sort of plot that the humour is based around

Because character development is interesting (Also, the other options are a unlikable angry emo and an annoying old mother figure).

They don't have to be mutually exclusive. It could be the elf guy trying to explain to super guy why he sided with the bad guy later, which would be plot advancing AND funny at the same time.

That's what I meant. What I was say was that I was preferring gag a day WITH plot to gag a day WITHOUT plot. Proof positive that gag a day with plot can be brilliant: Schlock Mercenary.

Don't talk to me about Schlock Mercenary.

Let's just say... never meet your heroes, and if you do, try not to be on any panels with them.

Not that I tried very hard, but I couldn't get into Schlock Mercenary. Instead I read such gut-busters as Glorious Bounty and Intragalactic.
