Rock-to-the-back-of-the-head is really the best way to end a fight. Well, at least it is if you're not concerned with whether your opponent can stand back up again...

Rock to the back of the head is pretty traditional for just about any squishy character, not just magicians, though it's frequently a brick rather than a rock. Actually, it's common for non-squishy characters too, only they don't get taken down by it.
