It somewhat reminds me of my father. Though he was no where near as... earthy, he was prone to interesting advice. When I left for college back when we wrote our final projects on papyrus, he sat me down for an important talk.
"Son," he said, his voice the solemn tone of an elder helping a boy transition into manhood. "I have a very important piece of advice I want to give you before you depart and begin your life as an independent adult. I am going to say it once only to emphasize how important it is that you listen." His brows lowered slightly and he leaned in, pinning me to my seat with his icy blue eyes. "Never eat an onion sandwich unless your date orders one first."
And with that he stood and left the room.
