He makes a rather good point, if he had a power like that it'd be pretty clear he did from the rather severe amount of abusing he would do with it. Out of curiosity, is there a backstory to how his family came to be a line of super powered heroes?

So, who else votes for Jordan in nothing but an apron and a chef's hat if the Patreon suggest-a-drawing thing gets up and running? <insert suitably perverted smiley here>

It's a bit of a cluster fuck, due to being created when I was eleven or so, and then ridiculously over modified as I got older. At first it was something like, an alien robot dude named "Overlord" was kidnapping and enhancing humans to serve as part of a planned invasion, as he had run his home planet into the ground and wanted to move to greener pastures. Though the process only worked on like 1 in a 100,000 people and they weren't a 100% on who the process would work on, so when ever they did find someone they tended to then grab his close family too. Later, I changed this over to a cliche shadowy government project pretending to be aliens as part of their brain washing program, but because the space stuff was too important to some of the characters, I later re-re-changed it so that the cliche shadowy government project was using barely understood alien tech they found.

At first the idea was the process just gave them all basic super strength, agility, stamina, slowed aging, et al, but that was boring, so I later added some stuff about their bodies producing a chemical that could used to power Implanted devices. The first bunch was Greg Kirkland "Nitro Man" (Craig's dad, much later renamed Gladius, because holy shit that was a stupid name) a spiderman/deadpool knock off who had generic super abilities, and an unbreakable sword made out of alien super metal (I was eleven),Alex Kirkland "Shadow Knight" (Craig's uncle) who had generic super abilities and some photokinesis stuff that mostly just let him turn somewhat invisible, Glen Masters "Atomic" (not related to anybody) a Human Torch knock off who could control and generate fire and fly, and some evil dude named "Nuke" who was really strong and durable. And from there they met some other super powered people and formed a super team named the "Crusaders". (a name which was already taken by that point)

As I came up with more and more stories with these characters, I decided to have Nitro-man/Gladius get married and have a few kids, and that all the super power stuff done to him was actually designed to be passed on to offspring(because breeding super people is cheaper and easier than finding people to give powers to) however it gets a bit unstable and mutates a bit with each generation. So from that came Nicole "Night Star" (Craig's older sister, later renamed Stiletto, because again stupid name, and her real name changed to Rebecca because DNPWWO already had a Nikki) who could fly and had super strength, and Craig (who's original super hero name was "urban sword" I think, again really stupid name)

Even after having Craig grow up, I mostly focused on his sister and (after a lame resurrection story) his dad, so Craig was a minor character in those old stories because he just wasn't that interesting since his powers were just slightly lower level versions of his dad's, Also, I decided he lacked the slowed aging thing, so as I kept making more and more stories and advancing the time line further and further he kind of got aged out and eventually retired after having a daughter died due to a congenital illness caused by all the weird genetic shit done to his family. And by that point I had come up with a whole bunch of other super hero characters anyway, including one that was kind of a weird combination of Spawn and Highlander named "Wraith" (later I actually tried to work this guy into Exploitation Now, poorly) who went on to fight an immortal ninja assassin in a school girl outfit, who I later named "Babylon Jones" and got her own separate story, which included some stuff from a vampire story I was working on, a nine year super genius with a cybernetic arm and a girl in a bunny suit with a giant sword. (there was also the part where these characters got converted into npcs for some Vampire:TM and Mage:TA games I ran and picked up some stuff from those settings) Which, for some reason, I decided to link to the gag comics I had been drawing concurrently about a moogle and a ex porn star.

You know, I think part of the reason why I started Errant Story was because I desperately wanted to work on something that wasn't tenuously linked to shit I'd been doing since I was ten years old.

Anyway, I've been cherry picking stuff from these old stories and using it in DNPWWO, while adding new elements in for the sake of comedy, such as making Craig's dad a giant asshole with low grade mind control powers, playing up how emotionally scarred his sister ended up, and so on.

Thanks for the info dump man, the process from which all this came from is rather interesting. With absolutely no sarcasm intended, all of that is as good if not better than what 'professional' comic writers come up with.

You want to talk about odd childhood comic characters? I used to write a mostly stick-figured comic for a girl that was about her satired life consisting of a her ex-boyfriend being a cyborged puppet of a shadowy alien agency, a group of mega intelligent gerbils that piloted human looking robot suits that had convertible flip-top heads who's leader was one named 'Lunch' who was her semi-ally/co-belligerent, and the Brood (the one from marvel) just because I liked them. Mostly the comic involved her getting abused by everyone while she just tried to find a steady boyfriend that wasn't trying to rule the world somehow by dating/betraying her.
