The character designs are why I've yet to even attempt watching Adventure Time. Similar to the way Pete Bagge's Hate comics in the 90's were difficult for me to get into despite the fact what I did read was pretty good. There's something about overly bendy characters that put them into the cartoon equivalent of the uncanny valley.
